Here we have an excellent example of an Accro watch by the Accro Watch Company dating to 1931. It is Swiss movement with 6 jewels and 2 adjustments. A.S.340 with a shield stamp (and what looks to be) TR inside it beside the number 558.2. I know that Westfield watches used this movement (for the most part identical) in their watches prior to be bought and merged into the Bulova Watch Company.
This piece is for collectors, in my opinion and would advise against wearing this as a daily driver, just because the pivots and bearing holes (before the ruby jewels were used) are extremely small which makes this very fragile against hard knocks. This piece is almost 100 years old and as such great care was taken during the cleaning process.
I have serviced this watch and have kept it totally original.
The crystal is the original mineral glass. It has a scratch and a very minor scallopped chip on an edge, but does seal the dial. It was very carefully cleaned and is clear.....I tried to show it in the photographs but kinda failed at that.
The hands are original and are in very good condition as is the dial with stunning guilloche stripes on a matt cream color with (Still) super shiny gold arabic numerals applied.
The case is outstanding and shows no wear through of the 14k white gold plate. The back has wear as can be seen in photo but has been cleaned and is smooth to the tough.
This piece has the original bracelet with micr adjustments and was made to fit a very small wrist.
Measures 33 mm lug to lug and 26 mm wide.
It runs around a minute or so fast per day depending on position but not bad overall.
Accro by Accro Watch Co. 1931
Returns of watches will be subject to restocking fee of 25%.
If parts are required to have watch made operational these will also be deducted from cost of refund.
All refunds must be agreed upon before returning any product.
Due to the delicate nature of this piece, I would caution against wearing this piece daily.
It seems to me to a collectors item in phenomenal condition, however the lack of jewels and the fact that the pivots in this piece are extremely tiny (that proved a challenge to me in ressurrecting this piece), I would personally be concerned about damaging this item.
