Time on my mind 24/7

Burning the candle at the bench everyday

I would like to introduce myself a little more than can already be seen from the content of my site.

If you found me by chance, then I would like to thank you if you stay and take a look around. If you are here because you are looking for a piece or simply to find some information, then I applaud you and will do what I can to help you out.

I have a passion for restoring older, mid 20th century watches and I also really like new technology watches...as can be seen from the types and styles of the watches found on my site. I think watches can and should be worn as a statement of who you are, or what you do for work, and even to convey the mood you are in or to show the mood of an event. In any case a watch is an accessory that is personal and is dynamic. I have been asked what is my favorite and I always answer "I do not know" or "I do not have one", I simply like them all in one way or another.

If asked "what is your favorite song" you may answer with a tune, but then you'll hear something else and regret the first answer...it is like answering how long is a piece of string! There are millions of tunes and millions of watches. I would recommend wearing a watch that you like and for your reasons alone, and forget the watch snobbery thing....remember there will always be the watch snob somewhere shouting that theirs is better, or this is better or this is worth more....none of that matters if you are happy. I personally have 8 watches that will cover most of my activities and I feel good when I wear them, some are inexpensive and a couple are probably more expensive than I would like to have on my wrist, and for sure I have some grail watches in mind but they are well out of reach and most likely will remain so unless I win the lotto, but again I am happy with my personal watches, and I get to look at all the watches I have for sale, I am lucky as I have put my energy into them and feel blessed that I have had an opportunity to explore their rich history.

I find working on an old decrepit watch that has seen better days and bringing it back from a sealed fate of oblivion and having it shine and function again is simply sublime with the sense of achievement it imparts is hard to be beat.

Not all of them are lucky enough to shine again, many factors come into play. Some have a nice condition movement but a really poor dial (and who wants to look at something that is unreadable?), and yet others look to be pristine but the mainplate of the watch is worn out because previous owners have had it serviced for 80 years and finding a replacement mainplate may be difficult or next to impossible. Of course a new one can be made, but is generally prohibitively expensive, so as you can see many factors come into play.

When I am not working on robots in the beverage industry, I am studying applied mathematics because at some point my engineering degree will have to be put to good use when my body is no longer able to climb around the machines ( Ilike to work with my hands and not sit in front of a computer).

Then I discovered horology (if only I had known what I now know, I would have started this 40 years ago), and the last 2 years or so have been nothing short of magical. The attention to detail, the discovery, tools, techniques, theory and history of horology has completely taken over my life. As can be seen in the photo above, I am driven, sometimes working through the night to calm the mind, sometimes because the fabled lightbulb turned on during my sleep and sometimes just because it is fun.

So this is the place I will announce new things to coming to the site and would like to know more.

I will always do my best to help with questions, help in anyway I can. If you like a particular timepiece but funds are tight, drop me a line and I will work with you and put a particular piece on layaway for you.

If you have a piece in mind and would like to offer a trade, show me what you have and we can haggle.

At some point in 2025 I would like to offer my services to repair, restore or simply clean and lubricate to ensure long life viability. I am not quite where I want to be at the moment as I am still getting used to my microscope and would like to expand some of equipment to cover many more types of time pieces and possibly cure the more difficult issues that I am sure I will run into.

You will see that the I am real, I have my address available and am always willing to meet in person by appointment. I also have plans to open a brick mortar store (small) if business allows sometime in 2026....good to have goals.

My email is also on this site so that you can always contact me directly.

I aim to inspire the imagination with history, new technology, and just nice simple watches that you can feel good about whatever your mood or wherever your collection takes you at the best prices I can. Just know that chemicals, lubricants, parts are generally not the cheapest of things, especially swiss made tools, but I will always do my best at keeping prices as low as I can.

Please do not hesitate to drop me a line if you have any questions.

And finally if you sign up and or join Waynesworldofwatches.com through my site and make a purchase, I will always do my best to give you something extra....it might be a personal discount, a freebie of some kind, or a coupon for you to use again a later date, I just ask that you remind me at the time of your purchase....I swear that sometimes my mind is about as much good as a chocolate teapot as there is usually a lot going on :)
